If, however, you’re looking to play Windows games on your Mac, Boot Camp might be a good choice. The vast majority of the time you don’t actually need to use Boot Camp, and you’d be better off using a virtual machine. If all you need to do is run a few Windows applications on your Mac, and those applications don’t a lot of resources (like 3D games), you might consider using a virtual machine like Parallels (there’s a free trial), VMware Fusion, or VirtualBox to run that software instead. In addition, you’ll need to reboot every time you want to use Windows, and reboot again when you want to switch back to macOS. The benefit of Boot Camp, of course, is that you’re running Windows directly on the hardware, so it’ll be a lot faster than a virtual machine. Since storage on a Mac is fairly expensive, it’s something you should really think about.

I still have to use the "Restart in macOS." which boots me into RecoveryHD, and then choose my macOS boot volume from there in Startup Drive.When you use Boot Camp to install Windows on your Mac, you’ll need to re-partition your drive, which is going to take up quite a bit of your available drive space. But that hasn't fixed my problem of booting back to Win when I select my macOS drive in the BootCamp Control Panel. Updated: I successfully used MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_ta to uninstall BootCamp, and that allowed me to install BootCamp.

I just want to be able to boot straight back to my macOS drive from Win without having to go via RecoveryHD. But if I select "Restart in macOS." it boots to my RecoveryHD on my macOS boot drive, but then I have to change startup drive to my macOS installation. Currently, if I click on "Mac" (macOS) in the BootCamp manager, it just boots back to Win10. I'm hoping the newest BC version will work properly for me when switching back to boot in macOS. I tried to uninstall my current BootCamp.msi but keep getting an error (another version is already installed, use Add/Remove on the Control Panel), but the option to remove/uninstall are greyed out in Control Panel. Can someone please post the steps to upgrade. I downloaded BootCamp but I don't know how to install it over my current version of BootCamp.

The only problem is that you never know when Apple releases a new updated version.

Tim Sutton's Brigadier app is a lot more practical to use for BootCamp download, you should use it.

Please note that Apple remove previous released versions, so you can only download the most recent one for each Mac, exception of this case is iMac Pro that we can download two BootCamps for now.

AFAIK, Apple don't publish any public release notes for BootCamp, unfortunately.
